Downloaders FAQ:

Where do I put the houses, walls and floor .Sims2packs so that they show up ni the game?No need to put these directly in your sims folder. You can extract a .Sims2pack anywhere on your 'puter and then double click on them. The Sims installer will begin and automatically install the wall, floor or house in your game for you. The houses and lots will show up in your lots bin for placement in any of your nieghborhoods.

Where do I put skins, skin meshes, genetics, make-up, hair etc.: Directly in your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims2/Downloads folder. Do not put these in any subfolders, or (I found anyway) that they do not show in the game.

Where do I put objects?: Anywhere in your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims2/Downloads folder. You may keep these in subfolders and they will still show up in game. However, do be careful not to duplicate object downloads or unpredictable things happen. LOL I had an object that jumped around when I tried to pick it up and finally became completely invisible - turns out it was duplicated in a subfolder and a main folder. I have no idea why it did that still!

Can I send your things to my friend so and so in IM or email?: Sure - these files are totally file share friendly.

Some of my favorite old downloads now show up as blue. Wuz up with that?: I believe this is an incompatibility between old SimPE created recolors and the new University Expansion Pack. The good coders of SimPE and its plug-ins have a batch fix available at the SimPE site: http://sims.ambertation.de

OK, I can't see half of what i download and nothing's showing up right in my game! Help.: First of all, make sure you have things in the right folder (Downloads). If so, it could be that you don't have the newest version of CEP? CEP or Color Options Enabler Pack is the hack created by Numinor and RGiles that enables all the objects to become multi-textured. To be sure, it is a hack (not part of the original game) but one that is used now by the entire downloading community and creating community, so I suppose you could say it's well tested ;). The latest version is available here as allowed in the CEP License Statement: CEP
